Meet the Poets

  • Gabriella Stella

    Gabriella’s core was built through her experiences as a former college and professional basketball player. Her poetry path began just a few years ago in the jungles of Tulum, Mexico at a time where she was searching for who she was apart from basketball. In Tulum, she founded the Haus of Expression to create a poetry club for individuals at all different stages on their journey. She has run 50+ workshops and has hosted 15+ shows. Gabriella successfully founded and ran a show called The Flo Show in Tulum Mexico and currently runs shows in New York. She is a 2x off broadway poet and has performed 70+ in multiple states and countries. The Haus of Expression poetry club was featured in the 2022, 2023, 2024 NYC Poetry Festival. 

  • Sincerely, Donnie

    Adonis Richards, aka Sincerely, Donnie, is an Afro-Latino poet, writer, DEIB advocate, and restorative practices advocate, currently the program coordinator for the Office of Intercultural Affairs at Union College. 

    Adonis has since written three poetry books and established his media and writing company, Lucid Writers. Here, he hosts monthly open mics for the Schenectady community at Electric City Barn. He also operates as a freelance ghostwriter. He now seeks to build capacity in his writing and publishing firm, and he is actively looking for clients. 

    Adonis has written for several organizations and magazines, including Lake George Living, the Albany Proper, Your Schenectady News, and others. 

  • Poetic Solo

    Kelvin "Poetic Solo" Tirado is a Dominican American poet born in New York and raised in both New York and New Jersey. He began writing poetry in grammar school and started performing at Open Mics during his Freshman year in college. Kelvin's ability to weave together everyday experiences in a compelling, story-telling manner has made him relatable to readers and listeners around the world. In addition to his work as a poet, Kelvin curates and hosts creative events and workshops, fostering a space for artistic expression and community building. His passion for words and commitment to community continue to inspire and empower others to share their stories with the world

  • Anais

    Anais (the mind of miracle), Is an Afro Latina multi talented performer; born in Connecticut, both raised in Puerto Rico  Philly. She began performing at the early age of 6 at school, church talent events, throughout Puerto Rico. Anais has a beautiful ability to display her sensuality and vulnerability through her work leaving others on the tip of their toes, with her knowledgeable skills and warming presence.

  • Mama Cosby

    Mama Cosby is a 2 poem published poet from Southside Jamaica Queens. She serves wisdom through a platter of words leaving her audience nourished, but hungry for more. Mama spits revelations shining light on heavy relatable topics such as sexual assault, poverty, social injustice, ectopic pregnancy, and herpes awareness. 

    Mama Cosby educates and inspires audiences to self-reflect, to not be afraid to speak up, and most importantly love themselves out of their insecurities.

  • Nysha

    Nysha Lee is a 23 year old poet and writer born and raised in Buffalo, NY. She began writing when she learned to write. She has dreams of publishing her first book with the goal to spread awareness on the many issues in the world, to let other survivors know that they are not alone, and give food for thought. She advocates for what’s right no matter how uncomfortable it is!

  • Brian Chan

    Brian Chan is a high school poet from New York. His work has been recognized amongst publications including The New York Post and Ringling College. He most loves red pandas, his family, reading Ocean Vuong, and the 2 by 3 foot Beyoncé poster above his desk—not necessarily in that order.


  • T'Challa

    T'challa Williams is an award winning creative advocate born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. T’challa is a Poet, Actress, Bestselling Author, Teaching Artist, Workshop Facilitator, Owner of Wright Ink Productions, Executive Co-Founder of the literary organization Hartford’s L.I.T., and so much more. Her fearless voice and strong words explain exactly why this creative is known as the Lover & the Revolutionary.

  • R.Sen

    R.Sen is a New Jersey based spoken word artist,writer, and poet who found love for writing at the age 16. She has since used this passion in many readings/performances, both online and in-person, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. It was during this time of uncertainty, that she found the power in her voice to speak her words. Her belief in poetry being therapy and the feedback from peers motivated her to begin composing her first collection, Introspectrum, ( which is available for purchase now) so that she can not only empower her own life, but the lives of others around the world. With love and empowerment as a focus topic, her work is tailored to resonate with those who have struggled in life with heartbreak, loss, self-empowerment and self worth.

  • Ebony

    Ebony Brady is a Mother of 3 beautiful young ladies also a twin mom who has her hands full of love creativity and purpose. She’s always been destined for greatness and success she’s a Poet who started writing at the age of 12 and has recently became self published Author with her first published poetry book called ,The Evolution of Ebony. Ebony has accomplished her goals with faith and hard work and also discipline as well currently on a healing journey of love and self care she shows her teenage girls daily what it means to be self sufficient steadfast and positive as well as progressive still a work in progress she continues to reach her goals and dreams by praying and knowing that God has her back always.

  • Jenny Pisani

    Jenny Pisani is a multidisciplinary artist and educator from Staten Island, New York. She is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, and has called many places home, yet always returns to pray at the temple of poetry. Take down the walls you have built, and meet her here, in this honest place.

    A Long Island, NY Native who has lived across America.  She began writing poetry after moving her Father into her home in her 40s. The reduced social interactions became conversations with her pen and paper.  She seeks to revive mindsets with words and wisdom - a poet loving life & people, focused on 'Inspiring A Human In Being.' NY born, Worldly grown. She has performed Open Mics at BusBoys & Poets, Nuyorican Cafe, Sugar Bar, 21 Squadron. Featured in Rhapsody & Soul's "A Poetic Awakening."

    Sean Hunter is an Author, Poet, and Screenwriter born and raised in Queens, New York. He self-published his first book, entitled 'CHELBY'S HAIROICS' inspired by his oldest daughter, on February 1st, 2022. Sean began performing poetry in 2022 and aspires to continue to do his part in encouraging people to become the best version of themselves, and through his words. Sean takes great pride in motivating the youth in his community to self-educate, be self-aware, and believe in their creativity.   • Jereni-Sol

    Jereni-Sol

    Cheree Alexander-Velez aka Jereni-Sol is a poet, spoken word artist, and poetry workshop facilitator. She founded her own poetry writing group, Poetry on Demand, in May 2015 and continues to actively facilitate sessions.

    As a published poet, her work can be found in nine anthologies, including her self-published collection, “Poetry on Demand: Idea Inspired Dreams”. As a spoken word artist, she has performed at several notable venues in NYC, including the Nuyorican Poets Café, Schomburg Center, and Bronx Museum.

  • Alicia Monai

    Alicia Monai is a Pennsylvania native residing in the state of Georgia. In addition to being an author and spoken word artist, she is an independent contractor teaching art and building an art therapy program/retreat for children and adults. She has an Associate’s degree in Creative Writing and is currently working to obtain a certification to be an Art Therapy Practitioner, with a focus in working with individuals with autism and other mental conditions. She participated in film festivals in Georgia as a script writer and has written works included in many anthologies and magazines.
